The Nigerian Exchange Limited sustained its upward momentum on Tuesday, adding N92 billion to its market capitalisation as renewed investor confidence in insurance equities strengthened overall market performance. The market capitalisation climbed to N92 trillion, while the All-Share Index advanced by 172.48 points to close at 144,995.26, bringing year-to-date growth to 40.87 percent.

Trading data showed that investors exchanged 507.4 million shares valued at N24.28 billion across 30,665 deals. While trading volume fell slightly by two percent, turnover increased sharply by 67 percent. Cornerstone Insurance led the gainers’ chart with a 9.92 percent rise to N6.65 per share, followed by Consolidated Hallmark Holdings and Chams, which both recorded notable price gains.

Sectoral performance was largely positive, with the Insurance Index up 1.98 percent and the Industrial and Premium Indices advancing 0.69 percent and 1.06 percent respectively. Aradel Holdings dominated in value traded at N13.16 billion, reflecting continued investor appetite for high-performing stocks. The latest rally underscores sustained optimism in Nigeria’s capital market, driven by growth in the financial and industrial sectors.
