The independent petroleum marketers association of nigeria (ipman) has appealed to the depot and petroleum products marketers association of nigeria (dappman) and the nigerian union of petroleum and natural gas workers (nupeng) to resolve their differences with the dangote petroleum refinery through dialogue.
National president of ipman, abubakar shettima, stressed that resorting to public altercations or seeking government intervention could destabilize the downstream oil sector.
Shettima noted that constructive engagement with the refinery remained the most effective way to guarantee steady fuel distribution across the country.
According to him, the dangote refinery represents a major investment in nigeria’s energy security, and disputes between key stakeholders must be addressed in a manner that strengthens, rather than weakens, the sector.
He urged the groups to prioritize collaboration, stressing that open channels of communication would resolve concerns over pricing and access more effectively.
The ipman leader added that peaceful dialogue would safeguard jobs, sustain investor confidence, and ensure a reliable supply of petroleum products to nigerians.
He maintained that industry harmony should take precedence over confrontation, as the collective goal must be to eliminate fuel scarcity and deliver stability in the nation’s petroleum market.
