The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has announced a shift in the implementation date for the new guidelines on the deduction and remittance of check-off dues (CODS). The exercise, initially scheduled to commence on October 3, 2025, will now take effect on December 31, 2025. The decision, according to PTAD, is to allow for a more seamless transition to the revised system.
In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary, Tolulope Odunaiya, the Directorate urged pensioners, pension unions, and all relevant stakeholders to familiarize themselves with the provisions of the guidelines. The rules were earlier communicated in a publication dated June 30, 2025, and released publicly on July 1, 2025.
Odunaiya explained that the extension would provide additional time for effective sensitization and compliance across all parties. She added that the goal remains to ensure a transparent, efficient, and well-coordinated application of the new process for all Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) pensioners under PTAD’s management.
