Consequent upon his appointment by President Bola Tinubu in December 2023 as the GCEO of the NNPCL, in compliance with Section 59 (2) of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021, there have speculations and questions on whether Kyari will step down upon attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60, or retain his position.
