Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol from N990 to N970 per litre for marketers.

The announcement was made by the spokesperson of the Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, who confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday.
According to Chiejina, the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery implemented the price cut as a gesture of appreciation to Nigerians and in recognition of the government’s support.
“This reduction is our way of expressing gratitude to the people of Nigeria for their steadfast support in making this refinery a reality,” the statement read. “It also aligns with our commitment to fostering domestic enterprise for the collective well-being of the nation.”

The refinery assured Nigerians of its commitment to delivering high-quality, environmentally sustainable products while ramping up production to meet local demand and eliminate fears of supply shortages.
“We remain unwavering in our commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards for our petroleum products,” the statement read. “Our products are designed to be both environmentally friendly and sustainable.
“We are determined to scale up production continually, ensuring we meet and exceed the nation’s fuel consumption demands”.
This development follows an agreement between the Dangote Refinery and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, enabling direct fuel purchases.
